We are very conscious of the need for fencing around the bridge and we are in the process of obtaining quotes to install proper security fencing along the river bank, to the same standard as is already around the infant area.

We are currently assessing the quotes and will appoint a contractor as soon as possible. We also need to obtain formal approval from the Environment Agency before any work can be carried out within 8 metres of the riverbank.

Please rest assured that the issue is in hand, and we are working hard to get the necessary work completed before the river rises again.

We are also aware that people are bringing dogs in the park. Please be aware that dogs, (other than assistance dogs, which must be kept on a lead at all times), are not allowed in the park. We have obtained some signs which state that dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not permitted in the park. These signs will be installed as soon as possible.
