Community Highways in Lavant
One of the big topics of concern in our village, and one that often comes up in conversation, is the issue of traffic. Many residents have shared their worries about the growing volume and speed of vehicles passing through our community, and it feels like this challenge is only increasing. To address this, a group of residents based in East Lavant, supported by the parish council, have recently completed a study of traffic in that part of the village including Sheepwash Lane and Pook Lane. Several possible solutions have been proposed, including a 20mph speed limit and changes to road markings and signage.
The full report will be submitted to West Sussex County Council before the end of July, for consideration under their Community Highways Scheme. We anticipate that many of these ideas can be adopted across the rest of the village, creating a broader positive impact and addressing our shared traffic concerns.
The report is available to read here, and we would welcome your thoughts and comments on these proposals. Please use the ‘Contact’ tab on the website to send in your comments.
